After Jigarthanda and now Kaaviya Thalaivan – the next time Siddharth sits in for a discussion with the film makers , his first question might be – ‘Does this movie too has an antagonist or second hero who could shine more?’
Siddharth does a great job in Kaaviya Thalaivan especially in the climax but not before being edged out on a number of occasions by Prithviraj. As Gomathi, a man with grey shades, Prithviraj is back to the zone that had done him wonders throughout his career ( Kana Kandein, Vargam, Vasthavam etc) . How he moulds himself to be a lesser actor than Siddharth while performing on stage for the sake of the story and turns to complete form in rest of the sequences is sheer joy to watch.
Watch Kaaviya Thalaivan for Siddarth and Prithviraj’s terrific performances , Vasanthabaalan’s passion for quality cinema which is evident in each frame and A.R Rahman’s music which remains as invaluable as it has been for any movie it’s part of !
