I liked Varane Avashyamund more in second viewing. Its now when I noticed how certain frames or particular location spots repeat in the movie and act as an aid in storytelling. It is also a technique that makes the movie endearing to the audience. Take a look at those repeated frames. (Spoilers ahead)

Stage is used as a device initially to show Major Unnikrishnan’s (Suresh Gopi) lack of confidence to face a big crowd. It is also the same place where Unnikrishnan is shown as a changed confident man in the climax.

In their first meeting, Unnikrishan shuts the door loudly on Neena(Shobana) . But in the climax, its the same place where Neena invites Unnikrishnan for a date and he acknowledges it with a smile
Now Nikki (Kalyani Priyadarshan) and Bibeesh(Dulquer Salman) first meet at the two wheeler parking space in their apartment when Nikki hits Bibeesh’s bike and Bibeesh asks for Rs.1000 as compensation . Now towards end, when both have parted ways with their lovers, its the same place where they start afresh with the roles reversed!
Urvashi and Kalyani
Its in a restaurant where Nikki meets Dr.Sherly(Urvashi) for the first time through a video call. Its the same restaurant and the same seats where they were sitting finally when Sherly said Nikki that the marriage wont happen.

It in a cafe where Nikki meets Alphonse (Siju Wilson) as part of a marriage proposal. Its in the same place in that cafe where Nikki interviews Unnikrishnan finally and lets him know that she approves.
Urvashi, Shobana and Kalyani
Its when Nikki was sick and Sherly was by her side on the bed that she felt close to her and missed that warmth from her mom. Finally they are on a bed when the mom and daughter reconcile and do a video call to Sherly.

If there is a scene initially where Unnikrishnan is reluctant to go and sit near Neena in the bus, there is also a scene to complete their relationship and show they started sitting together.
Kalyani and Dulquer
Terrace top is where Nikki and Bibeesh open up their hearts to each other – Bibeesh about his past, Nikki about her issues with mom.
Suresh Gopi and Shobana
Finally Varane Avashyamund is basically a story of how different people deal with the loneliness in their lives. Its the beach that the director uses to shows us Neena and Unnikrishan are lonely initially. Beach also becomes a place where they overcome the loneliness and find companionship.
